JANUARY 24th; LORD'S Day (Sunday); 2021.
THIS WEEK'S THANKSGIVING. There are answers to Prayer this week. 1. THE LORD was Gracious during the Care Facility Church Services. Several seemed to be closely hearing the Preaching of the Word. 2. Dr. Spence's first Church Service in a new Care Facility went well. After the Meeting, several kindly asked Dr. Spence and his Son to come again soon. 3. A Resident's stomach felt better last week. 4. Two Families who had the stomach bug have improved. 5. A kind Care Facility Owner sent Dr. Spence Home with a carload of food. We thank GOD for this Care Facility Owner's keen interest in the work in the Care Facilities. Daniel 6.10 says: “Daniel gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.”
THIS WEEK'S PRAYERLIST. These Prayer Requests have been made by different Residents and Staff in the Care Facilities. 1. Continue to pray for an Administrator's Husband. 2. Many are concerned about their Families. 3. There are quite a few who are in the Hospital this week. 4. Those with cancer. 5. A Lady asked Prayer for her Brother and her Son. 6. A Gentleman is going in for an important surgery on the 27th. Leviticus 16.30 says: “The Priest [Jesus] shall make an atonement for you, to cleanse you, that ye may be clean from all your sins before the Lord.”
SPECIAL PRAYER REQUEST. Please keep the dear Sick and the Elderly in Prayer specially at this time. The government has restricted them to their Care Facilities. In some places, there are quarantines. The Residents are completely restricted to their rooms. Dr. and Mrs. Spence speak with people every week who are weary with these impositions.
THIS WEEK'S COLPORTAGE REPORT. 1. Last week, besides Dr. Spence's visits in his weekly Care Facilities, on one of his days off, he conducted a Colportage Day. On this day, 83 Chaplain Calendars and 261 Printed Sermons were distributed in 2 Hospitals, 4 Gas Stations, and 23 Care Facilities in Grindstone, Smock, Uniontown, Fairchance, Connellsville, Fayette City, and Monessen. Some Notes on the day— First: It was a snowy day. Second: Since the CFs were close together, many Printed Sermons were distributed. Third: Many were thankful to receive the Printed Sermons. Fourth: Only one Care Facility declined “because of the virus.” Fifth: It was a grief to see Sinclair in Smock completely silent and closed. Dr. Spence remembers when this was a busy place. 2. An extra effort is presently underway to get as many of Dr. Spence's Printed Sermons in as many Care Facilities as is possible. This quarter 3,000 copies are being distributed by hand. All financial contributions toward this endeavor are gratefully received. 3. Would you read a King James Version Bible, New Testament, or the Book of Psalms in Braille? These dear Books are gently used. They come in all sizes. Different Residents have given these Books to Dr. Spence during the past years. If you or someone you know would use one or two of these Books, please contact us. The Books and postage are free.
